Wow that was good! I. So glad Mr Morgan was perceptive enough to realize Cora would be softened having Hang around for the summer. And she is an excellent gardener. I love how much they love Clint Eastwood’s The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly! That inscription and book gift is really neat!

I love the limited extra POVs besides LeeRoy and Hang... the old woman, Cora and Mr Morgan! It added just a little depth to their part of the story that I love!

Her brother sings with her for the first time and allows her to hug his arm!

I love all the language exploration we get as Hang struggles to put together 5 sentence stories to get her brother to remember her, and as she struggles to understand all of LeeRoy’s words.

An unexpected delight is LeeRoy himself who takes Hang’s temper and tries to get both sides to accept the other. He’s the reason David is even listening to Hang at all!

I don’t think it matters if his 12 year old sister handed him off to an American in the airport it doesn’t give Cora any more right to Linh/David. But I applaud Hang wanting to respect that her brother loves the woman and sees her as his mom. I wish Cora would do her the same respect!

Gahhhh she finally found her brother but he refuses her and his adopted mother screams for them to get off her land. It’s pretty sad. Her uncle catches up to her and wants to go the legal route but she wants to stay and just sit on the boundaries of the land...
