And now we have Dumbledore making no sense. Some THING is killing unicorns in the forest. Few things apart from the darkest and most dangerous creatures can catch much less hurt unicorns, yet, unbelievably, rather than calling up the Ministry and quarantining the place while a proper hunt is undertaken by elite wizards, they send in 4 first years, a cowardly dog, and the gamekeeper... who can't use magic! Madness!

McGonagall makes no sense here, why would Harry tell Malfoy, whom he is known to hate, a story which, if spread, would only get Harry in trouble? Why would Harry and Hermione be out of bed if they'd fed a story to Malfoy to get him into trouble? Why would Neville think he had to warn Harry if he overheard Harry telling the story to Malfoy? Surely she's noticed Hagrid's recent behavior and injuries? For shame!

Ok, here's a small plot hole. Harry and Hagrid leave the Dursleys stranded on the rock, having taken the only means of reaching the rock. We also know they'd eaten all their food the previous night. The Dursleys have no means of getting to shore and this predates cell phones (not that a cell phone would've lasted long in the same household with Harry), so... how did they not die?

"There's not a single witch or wizard who went bad who wasn't in Slytherin," well Hagrid's going to feel stupid when he finds out about Peter Pettigrew

Why aren't Squibs in charge of muggle-magician relations? Think about it. Any wizard is inherently dysfunctional in a tech-savvy situation and has little knowledge of muggle society, Squibs HAVE to accept a muggle-like lifestyle to survive. Sure they can't DO magic, but they understand the magical world in a way that no muggle could and how it interacts with the muggle world in ways wizards can't.
