The structure of Love and Gelato is quite fun. Most of the book is in ordinary chronological order, narrated by the main character, Lina. But every few chapters, it gets interesting. There are journal entries, written by Lina’s passed mother, included. These entries explain Lina’s mother’s perspective of life in Italy.

Even though I have just started reading my book, I have already learned some information about a minor character. This character is Sonia. Sonia is a good influence to the main character, Lina. She gives Lina’s mother’s journal to her, which greatly influences Lina’s stay in Italy. This proves that Sonia is a good influence, and almost like a mother figure.
