He has been taken in by the soldiers to fight against the rebel forces, to stop them from doing bad things to innocent people. My opinion on this novel, is that it would be so difficult to be Ishmael in his situation. Seeing all of the things he saw would effect me and how I thought of everything that was happening, and I don’t think I could ever do what he has been going through in the novel.
