It is revealed that Lena was turned back into a naiad by the fairies and does not remember much and Kendra no longer needs the milk to see the mythical creatures. Kendra and Seth's parents arrive to take them home and Grandpa says they should visit again sometime. I predict that at some point during this series they will inherit the preserve and be the caretakers of Fablehaven when their grandparents pass away.

Kendra was on her way back to the house when she had an idea. She remembered hearing about the Fairy Queen shrine and her power so Kendra decided to ask the Fairy Queen for help. She had to cross the pond with Naiads that nearly drowned her. Once she got to the shrine the reality of the situation occurred to her and she broke down crying. This activated the shrine. I think the Queen will help her for a price.

Muriel was in the chapel trying to free Bahumat and grandma ordered Hugo to capture her. He was doing good at first but Muriel used magic to destroy him. Seth and grandma were captured but Kendra wasn't since she hadn't used magic and the treaty protected her. Kendra is running home to try and find a weapon and go back for them even though grandma said to never come back. I predict she will somehow kill Muriel.

They all arrived at the Forgotten Chapel and Hugo led them down to the basement. They found grandpa and Lena chained to the wall in the basement and Muriel's wooden puppet, a limberjack, was near them. This leads me to predict that Muriel is already here trying to free Bahumat.

Grandma explained some things about the plan to save grandpa but she said she and Hugo, the golem, would do it alone. She explained what would happen if she had to kill Muriel but then Kendra and Seth started trying to get her to let them go and she reluctantly let them. This is like whenever kids are trying to get their parents to let them go somewhere alone with their friends and they finally give in.

Kendra, Seth, and their grandmother returned to the house to get ready for the rescue. When Seth asks if Warren will help them grandma says his mind is corrupt so he won't be able to. They then learn what's on the far side of the attic and that there is a powerful demon called Bahumat that is imprisoned in the chapel and Muriel might try to release him. I might reread this part to understand Bahumat's powers better,

Kendra and Seth and their grandmother went to Nero and they had to give him a massage in exchange for the info about grandpa. They found that he is being held in the basement of the Forgotten Chapel. They are going back to the house to get supplies and then going to the Chapel. Nero said there were others there and grandma asked about a man named Warren so I predict this Warren person will also be there.

They have arrived at the cliff where Nero is and they must climb on some very tall difficult logs to get up to him. Nero said that if one of them would climb it he would lower the ladder for the other two so Seth is climbing it despite what grandma said. I predict they will reach a deal with Nero and find Grandpa at some point. I also think the Society of the Evening Star will get in the way.

Kendra and Seth freed Muriel in order to restore their grandmother and now Muriel has disappeared. They are going to travel to Nero, a cliff troll, who has the ability to locate their grandfather. I picture Muriel in my head when she was freed and how horrifying she would be in real life.

Kendra and Seth were returning to the house when they heard a noise from the barn. They went in even though they weren't supposed to and found a huge cow that needed to be milked. They milked the cow and then went up to their bedroom, where they found Goldilocks had a message for them in her seed. It said, "I am gram." They thought about taking her to Muriel to get her turned back. I predict that they will do it
