Almost all people wish they could use magic to push their limits or fix their mistakes, but this book really reminds us how there are limits to even magic. Only through learning from our mistakes and hard work can we truly fix our problems and go beyond our limits.

The book tells us that even in the darkest hour we must have the will and motivation to go on.

Eragon reminds me of Bilbo from "The Hobbit". Eragon hated leaving his home, but after some months of getting used to adventures, he enjoyed all the magic and strange creatures he encountered that he almost forgot about his old home. Similarly, Bilbo longed for the comfort of his home at the start, but gradually enjoys the new people he encounters and travels with.

In this book it reminds me of all classic fantasy books, the powerful evil magic user trying to take over the world. The antagonist, Galbatorix reminds me of Sauron from Lord of the Rings. He hungers for powerful and uses dark magic to steal power from others, and he gets old enemies to betray their friends and join him. That's exactly how both Sauron and Galbatorix are similar.
