Considering Chris wrote this when he was in elementary school, this book is incredibly clever. Even if he had started it in his adult years, I would still be impressed by the imaginative twists and turns with which he keeps his readers off kilter from the fairy tales they thought they knew.

My only criticism is overuse of similes, but I did the same before I took high school English class.
