Isabelle has started to fall in love with the piolet that she saved but she had to return him to Britan. Vianne had to let her best friend's daughter die because the Nazi's didn't believe her story when she tried to cross the border. Vianne had to tell her daughter that Sophie died but she couldn't think of a way to tell her gently and now her daughter is acting out.

Isabelle took in a British piolet and hid him in her closet. Her dad found out and made a big fit about it. What he doesn't know is that Isabelle is planning on leaving and trudging over the mountains to return the piolet to Britain so he can continue being a British piolet. They just left on a train. Isabelle is working with, however, an old fling that broke her heart.

The Nazi's have started to invade their hometown so Vianne's sister Isabelle has hidden all of their valuables in a hidden basement in their barn. They've had to put the search for the key to the old trunk on hold because of the Nazi's. They're trying to leave and go to someplace safe.

Two sisters got separated when their parents split up and this is during World War II. They now have to find each other to complete a quest for their past. They found an old trunk in their old house but it's locked so they have to find out how to unlock it to find their memories.
