Finally made an effort to read some yesterday! I really like this book, even though I'm heading into the Waterloo section, my app assures me I can read it in less than an hour, so I'll be just fine.

I really liked the section where Jean Valjean had to confront the man who has been accused of his crimes, comforts Fantine, and is sent to find Collette-- which is what comes after Waterloo? Unsure. No answer needed.

Unfortunately, I predicted the prank.

Not only did we lose Fantine's origin story, but the Eponine's younger sister disappeared through some crack in the floorboards...

Now I get why he's so long-winded... It would be a lot harder work to say as much with less...

I think the reason we spend 80 pages on the Bishop is so that you love him and his interactions with Jean Valjean make more sense than the couple of lines from the musical.

I should devote more time to this, but then I started another classic and that took precedence.
