I was told by several people that this wasn't a typical Christopher Moore book and that I'd either love it or hate it. In my experience, that's true of every Moore book - and I almost always love them. I'm not sure why people said this was atypical. I've found it very much Moore, if slightly less funny than past works. No complaints so far.
