Mary is accused of being a witch in front of the whole town when 4 girls who have been pretending to be possessed call her out claiming she is hurting them. Mary gathers her things and flees to the woods, hoping to find the young Native American boy she has befriended. Her diary ends here.

They have to work rigorously 6 days a week but going to church on Sunday is a MUST. If you don’t you will be expelled, not only from the church but the whole community

She has learned she has a power, she can see people’s futures, but isn’t allowed to tell them of it. (Not very realistic for historical fiction, kind of going into fantasy) and the rest of the Puritans and her have made it to America and are traveling through the woods in a mass group.

Celia Rees’s, Witch Child is set in 1659, it is about a young 14 year old girl who flees the witch hunts in England, after her Grandmother is taken and killed, and settles in a Puritan colony in America.
