Update part 2.

It may be surprising for y'all to hear me say this, but I truly do wish that more Christians could be unified on these topics. But it saddens me... No. Angers me, that we are too busy arguing about which denomination Jesus is taking with Him when the rapture happens that we can't be unified enough to call abortion murder, to call homosexuality an abomination, to call fornication a sin.

Sooooo close. I might finish it tomorrow. Before work. Then on to another book. Any suggestions for what to read next? On my list I have Tuck Everlasting, Crazy Love, and Soul of a Chef.

"It is a very silly idea that in reading a book you must never 'skip'. All sensible people skip freely when they come to a chapter which they find is going to be no use to them."

Wow, Lewis. I thought you would feel the opposite.

"People who take these symbols literally might as well think that when Christ told us to be like doves, He meant that we were to lay eggs."

C.S. Lewis and I are vibing. :)

But anyway, still a fantastic book up to this point. Even reading this when I'm very tired, I can still follow his well thought out points. Bravo to Lewis for laying the framework with such clarity!

You know it's been too long since you've read the book when you forget which chapter you're on. That's why bookmarks were invented, right? I'll give you one guess to figure out who's dumb enough to not use one...

Update part 3. Character count is way too small, and I have a lot to say. :)

Side note: sitting on the porch on a beautiful fall evening reading a book with hot coffee after a very frustrating day at work is a good idea. Just in case y'all didn't know. ;)

C.S. Lewis is a master. I am refreshed by the fact that Christianity is that simple.

There are moral absolutes, therefore, there must be a god to govern them, therefore, that God must be good, because we all know in our hearts the "good" standard. Next, we cannot attain the perfect standard, therefore, we need a perfect, sinless sacrifice: Jesus Christ.
