Finally picked up the book again.

Boy would I hate having to live forever. I mean, apart from the fact that you'd be able to learn every trade and stuff, it would kind of be a mess... And maybe get boring after a few thousand years...

I wonder, then, why the last thing Jesus told us was to go into the world, making disciples of all nations, teaching them to obey all that He commanded? You’ll notice that He didn’t add, “But hey, if that’s too much to ask, tell them to just become Christians—you know, the people who get to go to heaven without having to commit to anything.”

"The irony is that while God doesn’t need us but still wants us, we desperately need God but don’t really want Him most of the time. He treasures us and anticipates our departure from this earth to be with Him—and we wonder, indifferently, how much we have to do for Him to get by."

Sooooo close. I might finish it tomorrow. Before work. Then on to another book. Any suggestions for what to read next? On my list I have Tuck Everlasting, Crazy Love, and Soul of a Chef.

When you've read 3 books since you started Mere Christianity..... Hopefully I can get off work early and finish before the Millers can get to the Plume. :)

This book definitely tapers off in the funny factor about half way through, but also picks up more of a plot at the same time. This is a book that everybody needs to read. But I recommend you read the trilogy by Jonathan Rogers first... Great story.

Y'all need to read this book. It's got a great quote on every page. Just read the Wilderking series by Jonathan Rogers first. It will make more sense that way.

I find myself missing a connection between the writer and myself. Maybe I'm asking too much from this book, but I'm kind of wanting him to make me cry. To bring back memories of the times we had that are now gone 3, 5, and 10 years ago. And then to use that emotion to fuel the drive for the points that he's making. I find myself missing that emotion that he was so close to in the 2nd chapter.

I love this book.

I'm finding this book difficult. I'm trying to read it and enjoy it, and after I had just finished the 2nd chapter I really thought I would. Reading on, though, I'm getting slightly annoyed by the fact that his writing is so scattered. I understand that he thinks it's cool and is great for his ADD readers, but when you can't follow the points he's making, it's gone too far...

Well, I must say that in the second chapter Wilson connected with me in a way that he never has before. He has brought to mind memories that have long been tucked away in long-term memory.

I start this book with a sigh. Just feeling the familiarity of this writer's style. I'm not a fan, but I will try to enjoy it...
