Loving this book! from p. 12: "What we do know is that Adam was born into the Philosopher class. At the end of his first year, he underwent the normal physiological testing and had his genome read. His learning status was confirmed but a warning was placed on his file. At least two genetic markers flagged a possible unpredictability in his behavior."

This book is amazing... from p. 32: "...it was unreasonable for him to take it upon himself to make such a decision on behalf of the nation. He was no expert in virology. Nevertheless, I believe those who feel the urge to understand Adam's heroism instinctively understand the importance of empathy."

Thank you so much, Leanne!! You made my day with that P.S.! :DIt is one of my favorites too at the halfway mark, and it is only getting better as it goes along! I am really hooked on his ingenious use of the setting to tell the story. The layering is just fabulous.
Your review was excellent, and one of the reasons I picked this up.:) I hope I can be as careful about the details as you were, and still get the beauty of it across as you did!
