Cassiopeia is no longer being held captive. The thing is that they will keep looking for her. I think her escape will just cause more problems than there are already are for her friend Malone. When trying to exit the room they come to an unpleasant scene: "Men with guns were approaching...He was concerned.Greatly"(100).

A golden gem I found in the book is: "Fear spread, a ripple that sent a panic through the afternoon crowd." The reason I chose this was because I thought it has been the best detail given in this book. It uses a metaphor to describe the crowd's reaction after hearing two gunshots in the city. It really helped put an image in my head of what that would have looked like.

So far, the main character Malone is surprised with the news that his "friend" Cassiopeia has been captured. Her captor threatens Malone to hand him over what she has given to him, but he has no idea what he's talking about. My prediction is that instead of trying to figure out what it is that her captor wants, he'll try finding her to save her instead. The book states Malone's life wouldn't be the same without her.
