Eadlyn is very independent. She says she doesn't need anybody and that she can rule Ilea by herself. Eadlyn also cuts any of the selected that says she will benefit from knowing the pm, which shows how independent she wants/is.

Currently, Eadlyn has been very straightforward and has already sent a couple people home. She learns that Kile is one of the Selected and is angry that he would enter.
The theme of the book is strength. Eadlyn is a strong, independent girl who says she doesn't want to have a male controlling her. This shows how strong and great Eadlyn is. She shows everyone that she can rule the community without someone.
