The moral setting is that Bailey must help and rescue people. This is what he believes is his purpose, and his expectation of himself and other dogs. He also believes that he should comfort humans and that his purpose is to be their best friends. He expects other dogs to act this way, and learns through each life how to act.

The main character in A Dog's Purpose is a dog that is called many different names, because he has lived many lives. He is mainly known as Bailey, in the life I am reading about. He is a very happy dog, and it follows his life from puppy to death, and then he is reborn again. Bailey loves his owners, and through several lives, he finds that his purpose is to make people happy. It is a very emotional book to read.
