Suanne, I will not forget that phrase as long as I live. There was a particularly hard moment yesterday at work (I work at a children's hospital) and coming home to that line... the number of ways mothers' jump, I see it all day every day. Beyond that chapter and line ... "she must've been tearing the place up." I'm so hurt but better for it

I want the same private hashtag with my son... is it copywritten ;)

As I read, I wondered about your headspace as you wrote that scene. The place you had to go and stay to write that moment. Bet it was hell

Writing this book was the hardest thing I’ve ever done and the best thing I ever did. Like seriously, I have no problem acknowledging my greatest success is behind me. No matter what else happens, I wrote A Charm of Finches and I’m fine if I never top it.
