Then 1 night Gardner is there because he just found the letter that she had written, & that was the end of the book
It was a nice pallet cleanser short story but I hated that she slept with Dean multiple times!

Dan‘s parents were paying for Jen’s livelihood so she could be a stay at her mom but threatened Dean if he did not step up & be a dad they were going to cut him off so he proposes with the original ring because the money he had intended to buy her a new ring with for a new start he had to use for band equipment. Obviously she kicked his ass to the curb.

Gardner is a friend to Jenny and they finally go on a date and he kisses her and that night Dean shows back up
And moment of weakness, Jenny sleeps with loser Dean night after night, and Gardner puts his project house for sale and leave Dallas
