Not done - Also I have a problem, once again with Dr Diana Bishop, a historian and the most powerful witch, a 33 year old, acting like a child. Even more so in 1590 than before. Surely a historian would not be so naive as to think she knows more than a man who has lived through the time? Another thing that takes me out of an otherwise interesting story.

Not a romance person BUT I kind of enjoyed the romance in the 1st book. That being said, we finally get the anticipated scene (and for me dreaded) which was meant to be romantic but for me it felt hollow. I think the romance fails a bit here because of the difference of Matthew compared to book 1, and this was just a vague awkward scene I couldn't care less for. Also it's the 16th century - nothing hot about that imo

"There were other de Clermonts I knew: Godfrey, Louisa, and Hugh (who received only brief, cryptic mentions)" Deborah you're killing me. I get that this is book 2, and technically i shouldn't have gone from one to another in a matter of minutes, but can you PLEASE leave something for me to read between the lines??? I've skipped enough summary paragraphs but this one was ridiculous. Taking me out of the story...

Ok I have moved on, magically she was in the right, though I think it was more of a coincidence (also Matthew's plan was too stupid to be realistic, after we have only seen him being very careful about everything) and she has taken some responsibility and is acting a bit more like the woman we are meant to believe she is. So I am okay with her now, but getting here was a bit of a pain.
