The more I read this the more Catherine almost makes me laugh with her dry tone/voice. You don’t find out until basically the end that the person she climbs with in Antarctica where she almost died from falling from the beginning of the book is also her romantic partner that she has a child with. I thought maybe that would have come up during the first story but alas. I find that odd
