Okay, I know this is fiction, and 2001 was a different time. But why on EARTH is this cop letting a 17 year old--not officially trained and CERTAINLY not employed by the station--work dispatch and look stuff up in their system?!? Already scarier than anything else this book could possibly throw at me, tbh.
