my wife did not react kindly to my request to have a funeral effigy made entirely out of cinnamon when I shuffle off this mortal coil. We can't all be Sulla, I guess.

I would really like to slow down my reading here b/c I can tell Sulla's about to croak and I'm never emotionally ready for that. Alas, schedules must be kept.

I forgot Sulla is dealing with a rampagingly untreated diabetes problem, and that hits close to home. Talking about an itchy face I was just like "ok that's weird" but then putting it together with hypersensitive skin that I get when high and realizing what he had was kind of a frightening oh-s*** moment.

This section on Spartacus is going a bit off the historical rails, and I am surprised because McCullough is usually pretty punctilious about that.

Senator : "So we hear you're randomly murdering people, is that true?"
Sulla : "Yes. Yes it is. And?"
Senator : "...I was expecting some more pushback/dissembling on that, to be honest."

As a type 1 diabetic, reading about Sulla's undiagnosed and untreated type 1 diabetes is making me feel distinctly, stomach-churningly queasy. If this gets worse I might have to nope out :(
