the fact that odysseus specifically says that in war men are not afforded time to grieve “they weep for a day” but achilles defies this in grieving for patroclus, lamenting him for days on end, refusing food and thereby actively sabotaging his chances in battle bc that’s what patroclus is worth to him/3

the way achilles praises patroclus as he prays to zeus to protect him…. just kill me now vro
