The beginning of this book is making me insane. Woman addicted to heroin gets pregnant. Sister is OUTRAGED that the courts want to take the baby, while saying that it’s too hard for her sister to get clean and hold down a job, but she should get the baby, consequence free, anyways. I’m sorry… what? Yes, please, by all means, let’s give the baby to a heroin addict & hope for the best.
