? Felt like it would have been more devastating to violate how the chapters alternated between Psyche and Eros' perspective so that we DIDN'T get Eros' perspective, making Eros' departure feel all the more abrupt and, when Psyche next sees Eros, can be horrified by the festering wound she inflicted on Eros' shoulder.

Allegra Okay. So this is why I don't like how the ancient Greek myths are just substituted for actual world-building. Demeter's drought and devastation was really bad, but Aphrodite too caused crop failure and famine, which begs the question of how the two relate or interact in THIS story or how the curse of crop failure actually works.
