I think this book is better than the first of the My Lady Janies series.

“Maybe the window?” Charlotte said.
“We can’t possibly use the window as a weapon,” Jane said.
“No, to escape.”

I’m listening to Badflower while I read.

“Go through the wall? Are you telling me to leave this mortal world?”
“No, no,” Jane said. “You are hallucinating. You’ll be fine. Sleep. Shhhh.”

Also, Miss Brontë and Mr. Blackwell have my full support now.

Goddamnit, I wanted Jane to end up with this guy. I’m not sure why I’m finding it so upsetting now, but I’m upset.

Liking it so far, but I feel bad reading it before I’ve finished Jane Eyre

Going to be listening to Jane Eyre audiobook too, so I can better appreciate this retelling.
