On page 82 of Huckleberry Finn, I noticed that Jim and Huck are very superstitious. This is demonstrated throughout the whole snakeskin and snake ordeal, where a snake bit Jim, and prior to that Huck had touched a snakeskin with his bare hands. It is quite odd that they are so superstitious, and I think it is because of their misfortune. They're trying to find an excuse for all the bad things that happen to them.
