Wowwwwww

End of chapter 1 by Jung

As someone who is non religious I guess I’d most closely relate with the “rationalists” as jung describes them but I’ve never before in my life seen the position so swiftly and convincingly dismantled in the same breath as the dismantling of institutionalised religion.

Jungs position of modern man’s enormous achievements as coming at a great cost is felt in our lives

Jung chapter 1: the archetype in dream symbolism

“The very word invent is derived from the Latin invenire and means to find”

Jungs assertion is that just as how an evolutionary biologist can identify how our body and organs developed over a period of eons, that our brain itself is similar and harbours innate features from our evolutionary past.
I’m so impressed, the role of myth to this end is inspired

Chap 1 Jung: The problem of types

Jungs comments about how psychology may be the only “science” where one’s personality in inextricable from the practice of his field are very astute. His call for people to understand themselves as a matter of utmost important are logical. His emphasis on the individuality of each person being integral to the meaning of their dreams is reasonable.
