I live with chronic illness and pain, some days when I’m still not healed I could get mad at God—question if he loves me at all. But I don’t. His word keeps me together. His grace is sufficient. Life isn’t easy. But it’s still good. We can trust him in the “no” & “not now”.

Genesis 50:20 “You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good.”

Reflection: Joseph’s earlier life didn’t look “good” in human eyes. It was ripe with injustice, pain, heartache, and hardship. But good and easy aren’t synonymous. Easy focuses on comfort & convenience while good is the opposite. Discomfort & challenging. But leads to long term benefits. Let God make the hard, good.

Genesis 40:23

Pharaoh’s cup bearer may have forgotten all about Joseph (“never giving him a thought”) after being restored to his duty, BUT GOD HADN’T.

Reflection: People may forget all about you, all you’ve done for them, even that you’d once been friends. God is still and always thinking about you and remembering you. YOU don’t forget all about THAT!

Reflection from Joseph’s story other than that kid can’t keep a coat to save his life—literally. Joseph—0. Coats—2.

Obedience doesn’t always land us in a good place. Trust & love God anyway.

He’s still with you.

Genesis 35:3
“…I will build an altar to the God who answered my prayers when I was in distress. He has been with me wherever I have gone.”

And some people say my books are too unhinged therefore can’t be a Christian book.

Meanwhile none of my characters have pimped out their husband for the night for some mandrakes. So… 😂😉

But on a more serious note: Genesis 28:15 “What’s more, I am with you”. Hard times. Sharp criticism. Being misunderstood. Rejected. Slandered. Betrayed… I AM WITH YOU. And that’s enough.
