Meggie visits the Prince of Sighs with Fenoglio who is a minstrel.

Resa is left with helpless Mo injured from a rifle wound. A woman shows up to help Mo, but she saw that the wound was severe and left. Resa is left helpless alone now and even worse the White Woman are coming.

Fenoglio takes Farid to find Dustfinger. To his surprise, Dustfinger does not know of their visit, and Dustfinger becomes ashamed after ditching Farid when he was read into the book of inkheart.

Fenoglio, the Inkweaver, finds out a surprising fact that his stories are now coming true. He is also shocked to hear that a boy and a girl are looking for him and Dustfinger who has been supposedly dead for 10 years.

Basta has captured Elinor in search for the book inkheart. Basta had also taken Orpheus who he met back in prison. Basta wants to take Meggie hostage, but does not realize she entered the book and is now in the Wayless Wood.

Meggie has now entered into Inkworld, and while Meggie was entering Dustfinger finally came home after about four years.

Meggie has decided to use Orpheus's words to send herself to the wayland forest to find Dustfinger. She has been nagged on by Farid to do this for days now.
