I'm not enjoying these last 50 pages or so. I know the story is becoming more focused on action and character histories are important. But could there be a better way to bring a backstory rather than just two characters talking it out or Hua Cheng being all-knowledgeable?

The first 20% of this book exemplifies what I do not like about light novels. In about 20 or so pages, we are treated to an information dump about basically every event involving the characters so far. We are told of the histories and whereabouts of Feng Xin, Ling Wen, Qi Rong, Lan Chang, blah blah blah… only to end up (so far) with Xie Lian not taking any action. As if the reader simply needs to be informed.
