Into the last third of the book, this is starting to feel a bit too YA as the MC fights for justice. I understand the writers' stance on revolution, but in terms of storytelling it does not land well. This tonal switch is incredibly jarring and, in my opinion, it takes away from the grounded-ness of the entire first 2/3rds of the book. I will finish it cause sunk cost fallacy, but I'm not a huge fan of this last part

Absolutely loving this so far, it's hard to put down once i get started on it. The occassional sort of "mini info dumps" on language and etymology told through the professors' lectures are incredibly fun and interesting to read. The magic system is incredibly creative and engaging to read about as well.
