I gave it 4 stars. I'm a real sucker for post-apocalyptic stories, especially those that take place in my back yard! I was also one of the ~3 people who liked the movie (for the same reasons). The book is significantly different from the movie, though, and better. My only complaint is that the story seems to lose steam in the last third or so.

I did like the movie as well. Though I felt the book was far better. I read it every few years. It does bog down and slow later in the book.
