Well this seems to be off to a good start and it seems to be a bit funny too. They found this giant hole that emits electromagnetic noise and people have crazy ideas about why. That made me laugh. One character said it could even be a church! 🤣 But who actually knows what an alien church would look like, if they had churches that is.

I just realized what this book is actually about. And why the main character, Alex, is having so many problems with the death of his wife. And why he has gotten obsessed with getting to this mysterious hole..as if the hole would be the answers to his problems. I am also thinking the hole is probably not what they think it is at all.

I wonder how they can claim they are not contaminating this alien world when their sledges are driving on the alien sand and they are walking around in their spacesuits?? Surely their vehicle leaves tiny bits behind?? But either way this play is very hostile.

I wonder if Alex is going down to the surface for the wrong reason? He seems to be very shook up. And how the Captain thinks he can make a profit off of this weird hole they found isn't exactly clear. I guess they think aliens made the hole.
