Future BR notes: I can see this book being a movie, each scene feels like a dream, and mists in each scene change. The author writes 3 different worlds so seamlessly and vividly (reality, performance, and fantasy world), and in different POVs that fills in alot of blanks. The villains are aptly named Terrors, their power so terrible and vicious, you'd hope they get overthrown soon & you emphatize with the ppl there.

This book reminds me of Pan's Labyrinth. The "real world" seems to be wrought with war, and the "fantasy world" is just their escapism.
