When I read the text from the story from the last 10 pages it seems like the author is making the mood of the story and sad and depressing when Esperenza's Father died and I can tell it by the expression on all of the characters faces. I think this is important to the story because it gives more feeling to it.

The story is starting to get me depressed knowing that Esperanza's father didn't show up to his birthday party. I notice that the author made the whole story sad and depressing by making Esperanza in a heart broken state that makes me feel quite sad for her.
