Is he one of those asshole hero's that redeems himself and you end up loving, or just an asshole full stop?

The way it feels now he is an asshole with a "I'm god's gift to women" attitude. I have no idea how he will redeem himself since it's 25% into the book and all he can think about is getting laid by the heroine. It's pretty much his only goal. And this is a novella.
That doesn't look good. Hopefully he'll turn it around quickly and you'll enjoy it more
