11/16/16I absolutley loved this book!! I just finished it and it tought me so much. Throughout this year I have been getting into historical fiction war books, and I have noticed throughout all of them, they are a little on the darker, sadder side, for there emotions. But they end really well, with still something sad that never got fixed, like between shades of gray did that, and a night divided did too!

11/13/16: I'm getting closer to the end of the book, and I am still watching for my inferring as I am reading through the pages. I have inferred about how my characters have shown hard work through the text. For example, it mentions in the book how Gereta, and others have just finished a normal day at work, as they finished covered in dirt, and the hunger of food. They jumped into the pond to bathe there selves off.

11/10/16: I'm already almost done with this book, because i cant seem to put it down. Today's teaching point was to infer about our books, so I did. I inferred about the main point in this whole book. And that was, how the family was separated, by a fence. I could infer just by looking, that the emotions are sad, and the setting isn't very happy. Also, how there family is in need of help to get back together again.

10/7/16: I have been reading this book for quite some time now, and I have noticed a connection between the main character Greta, and me. We both are insecure people. For example, like in the text, it mentions that she doesn't want to share her feelings out loud in front of everyone, like what is going on in her family, instead she puts her feelings in a notebook. This makes me relate to the main character Greta.

11/2/16: It is now at the time where i am on page 125. In this book, so fare i have been realizing a character trait for the main characters in my book. I have noticed that she is a very strong person. Part of her family is on the other side of the fence blocked away from her, which can be very hard to deal with, plus she is an insecure person and now she has to face a challenging obstacle in her life.

10/31/16: As I keep reading more pages, I am realizing that there is a lot of figurative language in this book that keeps me thinking. For example, In the text it quotes, "Fritz slumped onto the couch closed his eyes, and massaged his temples as if a sudden headache had come on. The words "As If" in the text proved to me that they are referring to something that is similer to what the author is trying to get at.

10/26/16: Today I have started the book a night divided and it has already cought my attention. I am only on page 10, and i'm already loving the book. I love books with suspense and this one makes me want to keep reading! I can also paint a lot of pictures in my head towards what the characters are doing in action. I LOVE this book and I cant wait to read more!
