So I’m about to where I am when I stopped before, and I think I realize now why I stopped. Slight spoiler ahead, so fair warning:

There are certainly parallels that could be drawn to the Valley and the arena in The Hunger Games. However, in THG, if you lost, you were killed. You didn’t have to suffered or be tortured or be a slave. Somehow that is easier to digest than what the Golds do to each other?
