This is starting to get ridiculous! It seems the only way possibly to verify these Navy records, to see if they are accurate, is to go to these sites of the sunken U-boats to see if they are there? Because they records are all goofed up. And if the Navy did sink one, how do they know which one it even was? Do they ask them? Kind of doubt that. The mystery continues! No name yet.

This is rapidly turning into a story of obsession. It's been that way awhile now. But these two divers are determined to get proof to prove to the world which U-boat that is, to get it's name, even if it costs them their lives.

I swear this book is SO interesting! The mystery in here is better than any novel. Who would ever think some sunken old ship could be so fascinating? And I guess it was intercepted transmissions that told them who each sub was. But it seems they might have finally identified the mystery U-boat.

So two possible U-boats the submarine could be included U-158 and U-851. Ummm... Is someone playing a joke on these divers? Because did they ever notice that 158 is 851 backwards?? Because what are the odds of those numbers being the same exact number but backwards?? Shouldn't the odds of that be astronomical?? And all the research the divers never noticed that?

It is utterly amazing how extremely difficult it is to identify this mystery submarine they found. No matter how hard they try they can't find anything or anyone who knows what it's name is. And now they read that one of the U-boats was carrying mercury! And they are thrilled! But mercury is toxic! Why are you guys happy to be swimming in toxic water??

I didn't know you could grow figs in New York! In Brooklyn no less. For some reason that sounds more bizarre than them finding that U-boat off the coast of New Jersey!

This is without doubt a true adventure story with death at 120+ feet in the ocean off the coast of New Jersey. Wreck diving is so dangerous! And how some people go down there to take artifacts like old plates or gadgets they find. Is that stuff worth a life?

"I'd like all the information you have on U-boats, please."
A week later Yurga received a letter from the archives.
"Mr Yurga, we have forty-three linear feet of floor to ceiling shelves of U-boats documents".
😂😂😂
Clearly he is not going to ID the sub he found by writing a letter to Washington DC.

This is very easy to read; the writing style is just perfect and pulls you right into the story. And any terms are explained in an easy to understand way. All the things that can go wrong when diving on a wreck, including being only a few feet from the exit and not being able to see it due to clouds of silt: frightening! And the nitrogen bubbles!!
