Still fantastic. The plot seems so simple at times, but Ford makes plenty of unexpected choices. You think maybe you’re going to watch a slow progression of entanglements, something like Middlemarch maybe, then he pulls the rug out from under you with a massive time-jump. I really don’t know where this is all heading, but I’m definitely along for the ride.

Finished the first novel. Ford kinda hits you over head with the title (Some Do Not…) in a way that couldn’t help but make me flash to Ron Howard saying “Hey, that’s the name of the show!” Onto No More Parades.

The characters drew me in right away, even if Sylvia is rather cartoonishly evil. Still, she drives a compelling plot and the pseudo-Woolfian style is doing it for me. Let’s see if it will continue to do it for 800 more pages…
