the way ppl talk about this book makes me furious. this book is about being a traumatized teenager aware that the world is very cruel and yet adults keep telling you meaningless cliche bullshit about the world that does not acknowledge your trauma or help you in any way but you have to pretend they're saying something really deep because teenagers have no rights

the fact that this book capitalizes Lesbians but not flits (ie gay men) is for some reason so funny to me like... [holden caulfield voice] let's go lesbians

for the record i am WITHHOLDING my "holden caulfield has adhd" thesis because no one needs to see that shit. i'm protecting all of you

i feel like reading this book twice should be in the dsm somewhere
