Oh really? You had a friend named Seau Raisis who had a problem with dry, flaking skin, which he treated with oil made by the cleric Oleigh? Fuck you.

The frequent and highly varied alternate descriptions of Passepout as, "the pudgy thespian," "the chubby thespian," and "the portly actor," have now been joined by "the corpulent thespian." Such sublime writing.

So this random weaponmaster is doing a weird training montage. At this point, he speared an apple (tossed by a servant) with his dagger. Then this line:

'They were no sooner back in their place than the master swordsman tossed the dagger-bissected apple into the air and quickly slashed it in mid-flight, chopping the apple in two, and freeing the dagger blade from its fructose prison.'

ITS FRUCTOSE PRISON

Jason Pierce Oh, come on. That's clever shit! I'd have thought you'd like it given your love for bad dad jokes, ha ha.

Jason Pierce I guess it would depend on the book. It seems like it'd be out of place in a Forgotten Realms fantasy thing, but I could appreciate the pun if it's well placed somewhere else. Maybe if the friend was named Mr. X. Zema and the cleric Cal Omine?

No, that's even worse. Is there a hooker named Vi Agra?

Marc *Dark Reader with a Thousand Young! Iä!* I guess it's okay out of context. In context, this is from an apparent ass who published his own book while Director of Books at TSR. His prior book was stuffed with puns and references to classic books and 80s TV shows. This is the first such in this book, so it's not like it's even trying to be a groanfest. Although there are many weird character names that I'm waiting to see if they're built up for a later gag or are just bad names. Or maybe I'm just not getting some of the jokes. Like, a pair of guards, Wattrous and Jembahb. I get "Jim Bob" but not the other.
