I chose this book because it already felt very suspenseful by the review. This book focuses on the aftermath of a war, which was fought over abortion. The result of this was the government being able to take teens and remove their organs for later use, known as "Harvesting" similar to the government in the Hunger Games taking children during the "Reaping" but using them to fight instead.

Connor and Risa, the two unwinds, are similar to Peeta and Katniss in the games. The two have become fugitives and heavily rely on each other, like Katniss and Peeta who formed the "star Crossed lovers" alliance in order to survive. They had just escaped the woods and gone into hiding with other unwinds in an underground sanctuary. The book gets more suspenseful every chapter.

Unwind begins with the story of a prodigal child, Connor who is sent away by his parents to have his organs removed in a process called unwinding. With luck he manages to escape from the police who were ready to capture him and forms alliances with two other escapees, Lev and Risa. They now roam around the woods looking for tools for survival.
