imagine if you could be this funny, and write this well, but with the emotional intimacy of someone like Tana French. a book like that could kill someone

Having been rather meh on Blandings when I first found Wodehouse, I've avoided them since, reading mostly standalones after finishing the Jeeves books. And while I enjoyed the earlier Psmith books, I worried he would be too minor a player here and the focus would move around too much, so I put it off. But so far this is a top tier Wodehouse plot and I suppose I will have to give the Blandings books another look.
