I tried to read...sadly a DNF. Must read other books in series.

From other reviews this book is a continuation of an ongoing plot - have to see if it’s enjoyable w/o reading previous books in series....here we go!

This book is pretty damn hot!

DNF @24% - This book is just NOT working for me. I can’t tell who’s POV the story is being told from, it randomly flips between the two MC.

Then there is a lot of internal dialogue going on which really makes it hard.

Finally, there is some dramatic history between the 2 MC’s that makes them slightly awkward & hostile at times.

I REALLY don’t like the interstitials in this book! What is their purpose? I wonder if I just skip them, will the story make sense? This is my first experience with the use of these and I have to admit I find them annoying!

The Battle of Culloden is well written. This author has not avoided this horrific battle nor the aftermath where Dragoons hunted down Jacobites.

I wondered how she would handle this timeframe and I am impressed...

Finally we get Alana Campbell’s story...I have a feeling we are going to see another strong, brilliant, lass in this story ... and matched with an outlaw. He better hope the highland rose doesn’t prick him with her thorns.

Hmmm this story is either going to break my heart or scorch me with flames...

Finally, they say “I love you” to each other...

Really Trying with this book, I have been trying to read for 3 days now. It does not hold my attention and I have only read 12% which was really hard for me to do, as I fall asleep each time I try to read more. I think it’s time to shelf, Mark as DNF, and move on.

Do we get more from Jericho Barrons POV? I am not sure this is going to hold my interest, I am a little over Mac and her wishy washy attitude....

Huge battle looming, Ravenna & Cormac have finally told each other they are in love....now will they survive?!

This book is an emotional clusterf#ck - these characters are damaged by circumstance and the author does not hide their turmoil. It has kept me glued to the story thus far and hoping for a HEA between Ravenna & Cormac

“Come on,” Hazard said, giving a long, last pull before working his hand free of the shorts. He slapped Somers’s bare thigh, the red print rising almost immediately. “Our room.” “But Evie—” “This is just the pre-dinner entertainment,” Hazard said, grabbing the undershirt and dragging him up off the bed. “The real show is after she goes to bed.”  

Ok, I am ready to see who the psychopath is... I hope it’s not who I think it is....😢

Another amazing story by these two amazing authors!! The audiobook was very well done as well... can't wait for the next book in this series!!

This is absolutely the worst narration for an audiobook that I have ever listened too... if I wasn't invested in the book and able to read it...I would have stopped the series. The author needs to have this book redone - that narrator needs to find another job.
