Unneeded plot threads taking up page time: 1 Hasik/Aban/Eunuchs; 2 Licia/Briar/Pack; 3 Olive being hermaphrodite; At this point, the book feels like it's just setting up sequel garbage. Can we get back to Aman and Arlan kicking ass?

Goodness, another plot thread with pregnancy! For the love of all that is holy can we please get to the part where we are attacking the enemy. The stuff that amounts to gossip in the Hollow is not interesting. The political dynamics of Krasian court are only slightly less annoying. I have no idea where the Holly social plot threads are leading, other than more unneeded page count.

I can't imagine what the rest of the book is going to be. I feel like we'll get 20% of POV characters that I'm not really interested in learning about.

Holy cow is this book long, I'd guess it's at least 150% of the rest of the series prior to this point, maybe 2x. Either way, I'm having a good time, but not a great time. I'm not at the end, but is this more about Lindon or Yerin in this book? I don't know the end goal, but there's a precarious balance between politics, power upgrade, and relationships in this one. Definitely the deepest book so far. We'll see!
