Oh this is so frustrating. These people are the architects of their own misery, and at twenty-nine and thirty-nine it’s not relatable or endearing, it’s embarrassing. At this point, if you don’t know how to be honest with yourself about what you want, and communicate with the other person clearly about it (even at risk of rejection), that is a *problem*, and I don’t see it going away once you get together.

Why is she asking him to “choose” her over faire? This is a choice that doesn’t need to be made, she’s just forcing it. Traditionally, forcing someone to choose you over something you love is the villain move.

“Why aren’t I important to him?!” You mean “why aren’t I his number one priority after we’ve been together for a week”?? SHE NEEDS HELP. You are important to him, just not the most or only important thing in his life. That is HEALTHY. STOPPPP.

Why does she expect to matter more to him than his passion project when they’ve been dating for all of a week?! Why does she accuse him of not accepting help with the faire, but also not understand that he was—briefly—freaked out when he thought his main source of help was leaving? Why the fuck did she think it was acceptable to throw his dead brother in his face during an argument about it??? This woman 😤

It’s 1am. I have been listening to this book for the last ~4 hours, and have just realized that a) I was right that this is going to end on a merciless cliffhanger and b) this book was came out in 2020, and book 3 doesn’t even have a publication date. God dammit.

This secret-keeping shit is SO frustrating. It’s not cute, it’s not good drama, it’s *cheap* drama, and I hate it.
