Pretty timely to be reading about a genocidal power and a bedraggled rebellion, but I guess that's a common enough trope. The number of cultures and factions is hard to keep up with but I try to just let that wash over.

someone mentioned that the part with the young woman and her djinn is interesting while the part about the political revolution of the djinn is not so much. And I agree. Making it difficult to finish.

the climax has happened (long ago) and the denouement is really kinda wearing me thin

very happy with this book

nice style, good humor - not non-stop snark but just regular humor
